Car jerks when put into drive or reverse.

I had my tranny rebuilt a while back. I have an LT4 hotcam in the car and never had this problem with the "stall" converter I had before the rebuild. They said I needed a new converter when they did my rebuild because the threads on my old converter were cross threaded. I had them get me a cheap stall converter from one of there companies they buy from or whatever. They told me this converter was around 2400 stall speed. I know this is a cheap stall and i need a better one and I will get one eventually. This new converter just feels different, like its "tighter" and now my car jerks real hard when I put it into gear. Is this new converter worse then my first one and its not stalling for crap or what??
