Car Difficult to get Into Gear
I recently had a new clutch (spec 2) installed by a highly recommended mechanic in my area. During the install he took it upon himself to change my tranny fluid to a Redline product. Since I got the car back, the clutch works fine but the transmission is giving me some trouble. It is really hard getting the car into gear at a dead stop (first or reverse). I have to jam the shifter to get it to go. I don't know much about transmissions so I have no idea what is going on. Can the change in fluid cause this type of problem? Is it a syncro problem? Are they related? etc..
I am thinking about draining the fluid and putting the GM stuff back in but I figure I should ask you guys first.
please help

Re: Car Difficult to get Into Gear
It could be 2 thing
1: The Clutch is dont disengauge all the way
2: Your Scyncros are on there way out. I doubt this becuase Reverese does not use a scyncro its a stright cut gear.
My money is on #1

Since when does reverse not have a synchro? I am sure I saw one in my t56.

Re: Car Difficult to get Into Gear
Something to note also...Spec Stage 2 Clutches are notorious for not disengaging all the way. I bought a brand new one about 2 weeks ago and had the same problems. Mine were a little more severe but I could not get the car in gear without force. Finally I took it out and put a stock replacement back in and works fine. Just something to keep in mind.
