Angry Can't get Tranny on!!!

Ok...here's my question I wiggled the Tranny into the Bell housing...but I got like a half inch gap. Just enough to screw the Clutch fork back in, but the Tranny wont go any further. I can't seem to get it in all the way. I mounted the Tranny to Bell housing bolts and began turning some of them. The Gap slowly started to Decrease....before I continue with this..is that the proper way to get this back on right?

Just make sure you ar turning the bolts equally on all sides of the tranny. I always bolt the bellhousing on the engine first, then put the tranny to the bellhousing. I have had to draw up the tranny a few times because it didn't go all the way in. Then again when I had the engine out of the car, the thing just fell together. As long as your sure the alignment tool is dead nuts, draw it up. If it gets REALLY hard stop and make sure everything is still ok.
