Can you guess whats misssing?
Well today was a day to remember. As you all know I've been waiting to get someone to help me set up my rear axle for sometime now, and I finally found a guy to do it. Set up next Tuesday to take off work, and go help him installmy new gears, bearings etc. Well when I bought my car I was told I had about 2K miles left on it before the rear let loose. Well its now over 10K miles with several track passes, street races, and daily driving it. Well today on the way into work (1hour) the normally very noisy rear was VERY noisey, and I didnt like it one bit. So I took it very easy, and on the way home in the rain it was just insane. Got home and decided to take a look at what was going on even though I knew I would be having it all rebuilt in less then a week. Well here is what was making that lovely sound.
Now I already have the guy lined up have new gears and bearing. I planned on reusing my diff and axles (sorry no pics of the axles) I am wondering if the carrier is to far gone to reuse. Obviously the carrier bearing bit the dust, and decided to eat the sides of the carrier along with it. Will it be ok to reuse the diff? I am saving for a bigger better rear axle now, but alreay have everything needed to patch the 10 bolt as long as I can reused the differential. If not any of you guys have one you wanna get rid of for a reasonably low price? Help?
BTW I've decided to pull the whole axle this week, clean it up, and paint it then load it on a truck to take to my guy. Then I'll just haul it back when he is done and reinstall a nice fresh 10 bolt.

UPDATE: Carrier is shot. So I am shopping for a 9" or S60. I know the S60 is 50lbs heavier but you cant ask for the weight to be in a better spot so its worth it, and I can make up for the added wieght somewhere else....however alot of guys run 9" so getting parts and such will be much much easier.
Anyone have some good input on this?
