Caliper mounts

I am considering buying an aftermarket rear in the near future and i have to send in my caliper mounts in or buy new ones. I figured i might as well take them off and save my self almost $300. My car is currently garaged in Jersey and I am not able to get to it to check it out, but i would assume that the brackets unbolt. Does anyone know if this is correct. I would assume it would be about 3 or 4 bolts. any help would be appreciated.

Yes your caliper mounts just unbolt (2 bolts each) but the part they are refering to that you either send in or buy from them is the mounting plates on the end of the axle tubes. You have to pull the axles out first and then simply unbolt them from the end of the axle tubes(4 bolts each ).Hope this helps .

I picked up and extra pair ( left and right) at the local F-Body salvage yard for a few bucks. To remove the old ones, you'll have to pull the rear-end cover and remove the C-clips and axles first, then unbolt them. Considering all the work, you may want to buy some used ones as I did. Also, there are two types; 1. w/ the wheel speed sensor mounts (holes) and 2. w/o the sensor holes. I can send you photos if you need them.

Here are some photos of the brackets w/ mounts for 4-channel ABS wheel speed sensors. I had the brackets cadium plated.
