Red face Broke Bolt off in Flywheel

I was trying to torque my pressure plate down to 22 ft lbs and I guess my torque wrench was off and I broke a bolt off in the flywheel. What would you guys recomend for removing the bolt? Drill it out? Brad

You can probably just drill a small hole in the center of the bolt and use an easy out.

Hmm I might try that. I found out that Autozone sells flywheels for only 59.95 new so I might just go that route. I would also end up having a new flywheel that will be nice and smooth.

That Autozone one has a $140 core. Do you guys think they just resurface used ones and sell them or they use the cores to make new ones out of? I would like to not have a resurfaced flywheel if possible. Brad

That is what you are going to get for that price.

Wow, cant imagine how that bolt would break under that light of torque, I imagine it would easy out just fine as long as it is not bound up or cross threaded.

Yeah I know. I think the torque wrench just stopped working. I felt like I was giving it way over 22ft lbs. Guess i will try a back out bit.

Is the flywheel off now? If not, once it is there may be a stub you can grab.
