Broke an axle or the gears

Well, I took the car out to the strip last night and I either broke the ring and pinion or an axle. I started hearing it on passenger side the run before it actually broke so I knew it was about to go. I launched a couple 1.7 60's and a few 1.8's, the one it broke on was a 1.8. The funny thing about it was it didn't break on the line I was past the 60 FT. mark before it broke. I'm about to go pick up the car and take off the inspection cover to see what and how bad it is. The only thing I can tell you right now is it sounds like the passenger side axle was grinding and at first it would move but now it won't. I'm hoping the axle broke or I stripped out the splines on the axle.

Re: Broke an axle or the gears

I think I might have found the problem..........http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...0/100_0797.jpg , missing 7 teeth on your ring gear is not good. Oh well, I guess I'll put the 2.73's back in till I can get somemore 3.73's.
