Pulled the cover on the diff. Looks like a spider gear broke and cashed out the limited slip and chewed the ring and pinion up pretty good. I'm pretty set on motive 4.10's for the ring and pinion but need some choices for the limited slip.

I would go with either an Eaton or a PRO Auburn (huge difference between a regular series Auburn and a Pro series)...The Eaton is nice because its cheaper and rebuildable...However, my Pro Auburn has lasted for 7 years...Either is good...

he is right a eaton or an auburn are great pieces but a full spool is cheaper and good luck breaking that.

Where can I find the Eaton or the Auborn? I've been on most of the vendors web sites but can't find them. As much fun as a spool would be, I drive the car on the street quite a bit and don't want to be replacing rear tires all the time.

you would be surprised on how easy it is to drive a spool on the street. people told me it couldnt be done but i have not had any problems and i drive it everyday. i do have mosier axles in my nine inch so it is possible you may have problems if you are still on stock axles.

Randys Ring and Pinion is good...I also found a company in NY called Power Train 1-866-589-GEAR who has good package deals..JEGS and SUMMIT, but they are actually higher in some cases...just look at ads in the back of car mags and call for prices..also if you want to go real inexpensive SLP has "take-off" zexels for $99 (not as good as Eaton or Auburn)...and I wouldn't run a spool in our 10 bolts even with moser axles on the street...Red 96 has a 9" which is WAYYYY stronger than our 10 bolts. Good luck...
