There is a slave cylinder bleeder valve on the LS1 cars, and its accessible from under the car, without pulling the trans. A bit hard to get at it, but its there, unlike the LT1 setup.

i found the bleeder valve...but how are you supposed to get to it without at least separating the trans from the bellhousing?

i don't think it's possible.

even if there was an access hole...it's way up above the hydrolic line...

either way the trans is now separated...but in the process we broke the fitting on the hydrolic line...should have that fixed today...then i'll see what i can manage.

I know this is an old thread but I'm about to pull my slave cylinder in order to fix the restriction problem in the braided hydraulic line going to the clutch.

I have a "never used" pressure bleeder from motive or I can bench bleed the the cylinder after reassembling the line to the slave, before putting it all back into the car.

What I need to know is if I will have to bleed the thing again after it has all been reassembled. The instructions I have read seem to pertain to bleeding the slave after it has been re-installed. The reference is to a bleeder "line" that is about 4 inches above where the braided line quick connects at the housing. My 2001 LS1 doesn't appear to have this bleeder or line 4 inches above the one coming from the slave cylinder. I seem to be able to feel an opening with what might be a bleeder fitting inside but can't be sure. It is all but inaccessible. Can someone here give me an idea what I will have to do after I remove the slave, open the line orifice and re-install it all?

Thanks
