Big converter in a 94Z ?

Big converter in a 94Z ?

I heard you can put a big converter in a OBD1 for some reasone ? From what i hear it wont shift under WOT. Can i tune it to shift ok with LT1 edit ? or am i gonna have to put a th400 or go to OBD2 ? and help would be helpful thanx

maybe you should rephrase? you WANT to put a big torque converter on your 94?

Yep, u heard right..Some guys are having problems with there cars not shifting from 1-2, or somtimes 2-3....U can tune around this problem.

He meant installing a high stall converter....

Yes, some people experience problems with torque converters 2800 or higher on 94-95 cars. The problem is manifested through a NO SHIFT from first to 2nd gear at wide open throttle, setting an SES light and soft landing in 3rd gear.

There is a programming fix for it but it doesn't work on all cars. Converting to OBDII is an option that will work in case you DO get this problem, but I wouldn't go as far as converting to a Th-400 for this reason, unless you specifically want the Th-400.

thanx for the help guys, yes when i said big i ment a big stall like 3800-4400 this is gonna be mainly a track only car. So i can have it tuned so that it will shift with a higher stall ? thanx for the info
