Big converter in a 94Z ?
Big converter in a 94Z ?
I heard you can put a big converter in a OBD1 for some reasone ? From what i hear it wont shift under WOT. Can i tune it to shift ok with LT1 edit ? or am i gonna have to put a th400 or go to OBD2 ? and help would be helpful thanx
He meant installing a high stall converter....
Yes, some people experience problems with torque converters 2800 or higher on 94-95 cars. The problem is manifested through a NO SHIFT from first to 2nd gear at wide open throttle, setting an SES light and soft landing in 3rd gear.
There is a programming fix for it but it doesn't work on all cars. Converting to OBDII is an option that will work in case you DO get this problem, but I wouldn't go as far as converting to a Th-400 for this reason, unless you specifically want the Th-400.
