best way to set up trans shift kit?

there's a couple ways to set up the shift kit, street strip, full race, etc. (just depends on how large you drill the holes in the valve body). How should I set mine up, my car will be making around 370-380RWHP N/A and around 475-525RWHP with the 150 shot and I plan on spraying through shifts. I also will be using a 3600 vigilante stall and a B&M trans cooler. As of right now the trans has about 61K on it, but i'm confident that i'll prolly manage to break it by the end of the season, so as of right now I was thinking of just going full race and going with the biggest holes to avoid some slippage and hopefully get some more use out of it before it goes. Only Con I can think of is that going that big might blow the trans becuase it will be hitting the gears the much harder and that could be a bad thing cuz it might be too extreme. The reason I was thinking of going full race is because "full race" on the shift kit I got is still only a .490 valve which still isn't that extreme. What do you guys think?

BTW, I plan on beating on this car a lot and will be spraying through shifts, but most of the abuse will be done on the street, from a roll so it won't be seeing a ton of hard launches.

With the shift kit I'd be more worried for everything behind the transmission than the trans itself. U-joints, driveshaft, diff, gears, axles... Keep in mind that when you're drilling these holes a 1.4" hole is twice as big as a 1" one as far as hydraulic pressure is concerned- it might not seem a lot to you but it will later on. You can always drop the pan and the valvebody later on and make the holes bigger if you're still not satisfied.

If you use on of my "modified" Trans-Go Performance Shift kits, you will have smooth part throttle shifts, and quick/firm WOT shifts. If I can be of help, let me know?

Sounds like you have already made up your mind. the Strip only install will give you the longest use of the trans with the motor mods and driver abuse/ non abuse you describe. the problem may fall into other parts breakage of the trans and or drive train. you might need to rethink the internals of the trans more!

Re: best way to set up trans shift kit?

I intend to get a new (better, stage 4) trans once this one goes, same goes with the rear end (upgrade to moser 12 bolt).. U joints aren't to much to replace and can be bought with lifetime warranties, lol. Anyway I love those neck snapping shifts (I had a full manual valve body on my th-350 on my previous camaro), so i'm thinking strip sounds like my kindof setup.
