Best 4.10 gears, problem with motive

Hey guys.

I got a set of new Motive gears on a trade for some parts. I also got a TA cover, main cap studs, the axle tubes have been welded, solid pinon sleave, auburn posi, etc.

This set of motive's didnt' setup worth a crap in a third gen diff, so I pulled them out of that housing, and was gonna use them in my 10 bolt housing (got 3 housings with axles for 4th gens, etc).

The guy doing the install has done many trannies/gears for me and I trust him 100%. He says these motives have a "high spot" or something, says he can get a pattern, but they just don't setup right and he says I should get new gears. He likes Richmond. But all I can find in town are Motive and Motive Pro. I'd be willing to give the Motive Pro a try, but am getting tired of motive. Have had some problems with their stuff in the past. Used Ford Motorsport gears in my 9" and they work great (9" is in my third gen).

Anyhow, what would you guys say is the best gearset for streangth/quality for our 10 bolts. I'm not expecting it to be strong, but I drive this car only sometimes and its staying mostly stock power. Its more of a handling car.

Should I give Motive Pro's a try? What about other brands. In my previous lt1/third gen stick cars, I've broken 3 sets of Motive and 1 set of Strange gears. Basically I broke every 4.10 set I had in the cars after I got an aftermarket clutch. Because I had most of these parts for free, I was willing to try the 10 bolt one more time in my seldom driven stockish car.

Should I try the Motive Pro, or wait a few days to get a set of Richmond or whatever other gears.

Thanks guys,

Igor.
