Bent shift forks/time for new shifter?

Well, I found out that I have a bent shift fork for 1st and 2nd gear. The shifter in the car is a Hurst without adjustable stops. If I get a pro 5.0 or a similar shifter with adjustable stops, will it keep me from bending shift forks?

Well, if anyone cares i found out tht it wasn't bent forks. the pressure plate was cracked and warped therefore not allowing the clutch to release fully and not allowing the gears to fully engage.

for your knowledge the aftermarket shifters only have stops for 3&4, that seems to be most peoples problem, the 1&2 is also alum. but nobody seems to have problems with that one, so no stops were put in.
