bent axle or warped rotor..

Long story short my camaro slid the right side into a curb going around a turn from a red light, (probably hit at about 20mph) anyway it destroyed teh wheel and i cant figure out if it has a bent axle or just a warped rotor, the car has no vibration at speed, but the right rear brake rotor has one side that was getting a lot of pressure put on it, and the side directly across was barely taking off the surface rust. is it possible that this just warped the rotor and didnt bend the axle? im assuming the car would have a noticeable wobble or vibration from a bent axle.. or hoping anyway..

well to my dismay i got the rear-end of the car jacked up today.. and upon rotating the wheel its about 1/8in. out but is it posible perhaps it bent the studs without warping the axle itself?.. for some reason i cant help but think i would notice a wobble or vibration with something that major bent even if it were just the studs i think i would notice that much =/ anyone have some advice in this area? and would it be safe to drive to my usual shop about 35 miles away from here?

Just did the same exact thing to my car except i broke both my wheels on the left side. An easier way to tell if the axle is bent is to look behind the wheel and you should see fluid leaking around a square piece behind the studs and all where the rear connects. May want to use a flashlight. Mine was bent and because of it being bent, it messed my rotors up 2! Also, i did not get any vibration either, just a slight notice of it when rolling at idle, i could feel a lil bounce every rotation. So now you prob have both problems like i did. Its also ok to drive on if its not leaking to bad, if you dont see any big spots of rear-end fluid around the wheel or anything you should be ok for a while. I just did a 800 mile road trip on mine bent

Oh you may also end up having a "spinning stud" which is a ROYAL PAIN to remove because of the bent axle. So look out for that and be careful on trips, because if you get a flat, the tire aint comin off but dont replace it until you get the axle fixed, or else it will prob just happen again, i cut mine off and just drove with 4 studs until i could fix the axle so at least i could get the tire off....hope this helps
