Bell housing grit and oil seapage? Is this normal at 85000km?

Hi Guys,
I'm changing out my clutch because it's been slipping. When i removed the tranny and bell housing there was a fair bit of grit (really small street dirt) and also mixed in with oil on the bell housing cover and tranny. Is this normal? should the inner areas been relatively clean? Or is this a hydraulic clutch leak?

Thanks for the speedy response as i need to know tonight...so i can decide if i need to buy and change the hydraulic clutch as well...my car is up on blocks and ASAP if you can please....

Thanks!

Peter

It very common for SBC to leak. Could be rear main crank seal, clutch hydrolics, or front trans. seal. The grit is normal.
