Depends, what did you fry? If it's just the regular burnt clutches, etc then you will be fine.

What else would I have to worry bout? It doesn't upshift out of 2nd. So, the 3-4 clutches aren't engaging. Still gets the signal from the computer though.

You will be fine. Just making sure you didn't really fubar something like an input/output shaft, etc.

I don't think the profanity in the title adds much to the tone of the discussion. Next time, please leave it out.

Your question can't be answered until you tear the tranny apart and see what is worn/broken/damaged.

On average, how long does it usually take a shop to rebuild a 4L60E?

This http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...93431?v=glance or this http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...869622-1393431 mayt be worth your time.

Thanks, but I ask that question because I'm in a time constraint. Like, how long after I drop the tranny and parts off to a shop will they be complete with the rebuild?

If they're not back logged they can probably do it in a day.

Well, if you include the tranny R+R a day would be pretty qucik. I'd say more like two days if they have all the parts.

I dropped mine off at 4 PM one afternoon and it was done by 10:30 AM the next morning. Don't know exactly when he worked on it though. Two days is probably more realistic though.

Did they rebuild your tranny our simply replace it with a rebuilt unit? Maybe they work all night?

Rebuilt it with all the goodies from Pro-Built. I'm sure the fact I mentioned I'd pay cash helped some.

Are you satisfied with the Pro-Built rebuild kit? Which one did you use?

I used the street/strip kit and upgraded to the heavy duty GM sunshell. Call them and talk. Dana is a very knowledgeable guy and didn't make me feel like an idiot even though I knew little about trannies at that point in time.
