banging i gear

Ok quick question here for you Trans guru's. I looked at 94z a4 today. First thing is I've never been in a car that shifted this hard on 1-2 shifts. According to the owner car has a shift kit plus a hypertech trans program. That I know is bad. My question is when you put this car in drive from park , rev or neu this things bangs into gear. Theres a slight dely then goes into gear hard. Is this a valve body problem?

I am not an expert, but I just bought a 96Z w/ a shift kit. The 1-2 shifts are hard/firm. All the other shifts are quicker, just not as hard. As far as shifting from park, neutral, ect, my car does not slam into gear. It goes into gear just fine, so there might be a problem there somewhere.

I think the hypertech can firm up the shifts as well by increasing the line pressure. A shift kit & that would probably be way too much.
