Question B&m transpak or shift kit??

I was looking to get either a B&M transpak or their shift kit.. i called B&m and they didn't really give me much help.. i have about 53k miles on the car and want to improve the tranny a bit.. I was also considering a tranny cooling kit and looking to see in anyone has had these installed before and if they recommned it.

Re: B&m transpak or shift kit??

I put the Transpak into my tranny and it seemed to work ok. Many/most guys on the board lean towards the Trans-Go shift kit, but then there are mixed reviews (from the "pros") on that kit too. The B&M "shift improver" kit doesn't have as many parts in it as the Transpak (and it's also 1/2 the cost) ... so I think the Transpak is probably the "better" kit?

As far as a cooler, it's certainly a wise option (especially if you rag on your car a fair bit). It took me a couple hours of messing around, and figuring out HOW in the world to get the zip ties through the rad and A/C condensor (finally just fought and worked through the fans and got them through the rad & condensor) but otherwise, it went in relatively easy.

I'd vote for either shift kit, performance improver, whatever. I personally have not tried them, but they all seem to do the job. Another option would be a pressure line kit, can't remember the exact name. But it increase the line pressure so the shift is harder when you want it, and soft when you don't.

As for the zip ties, yes, those are a pain. I spent probably 2 hours on my back just trying to fish them through. The install is easy, just time consuming to get done.
