i had this problem when i rebuilt a friends rear end in a 95 camaro z28 with traction control, the new axles i put in were a little longer and rubbed the brack caliper bracket just slightly, i just ground on the caliper brackets a little and it was fine

this was a 95 z28 vert, and it was the first time i saw 4 channel abs/traction control on this year car stock

Thanks for the idea but the c-clips are constantly falling out, evey time i open the rearend the are sitting in the bottomof it, and if you remove the brake bracket the axles just slide right out of the housing. i beleive the axles are bent and that is why the clips keep coming out, should I just try replacing the axles to see if that is the problem or is the whole rearend going to have be replaced

i would check the side gears, there should be no way the c clip can fall out unless the side gears are worn bad and causing too much clearance between the c-clip groove and the pin

i have seen this happen on a 8.5" rear end, it kept spitting out the c-clips then the guy took the carrier out and checked the side gears and found the gears were worn so bad on the back side that the clearance opened up enough for the clips to fall out
