autozone clutch
Not sure if this is new info or not..
I am doing a t56 swap on my LT1 and the six speed came with a roasted mcleoud clutch and pressure plate on it..
Hadn't heard bad things about the autozone clutch for 198 so decided to check that out..
The pressure plate it comes with is the exact same as the mcleoud setup, right down to the manufacturer numbers on the casings.. it is just painted red.
so when this one wears out, I will take it to autozone for a warranty replacement and get a mcleoud clutch disc for a hi po setup on the cheap..
Just wanted to share the info..

There is currently only ONE pressure plate for LT1 cars due to a patent owned by Valeo...They make 100% of Pressure plates for every LT1 set up but Mcleod will be coming out with a 2,600# plate very soon!!
P.S Mcleod single disc SUCKS A$$........ P.O.S
( personal opion)

I got the replacement from Advance Auto Parts. I believe they are the same kit. It's decent, though I went to the track a couple of weeks ago and managed to overheat the clutch after only four runs. No, I didn't intentionally slip the thing either. It was fine after cooling, but I'm not convinced the disk is up to serious punishment. It seems decent for the price and for street use though.
