auto or 6sp LS1

my 98 LS1 is currently auto with a 4400 stall converter. i can get a conversion kit for it with 12,000 miles for 1000$ or can get my trans rebuilt for about 1 grand....what whould be beter....i 1/4 races it alot

a well stalled auto will rape a manual any day of the week at the strip. Both from a consistency standpoint, and from getting a better hole shot. Look at all the guys with tubbed race cars at your track. What are they running? Autos.

It depends on what you want, really. Try to imagine yourself driving one, then the other, and just go with it. If you do a lot of 1/4 or stoplight races a built auto will be better but if it's mainly just for street it's hard to beat 6 gears.

ive had a 6spd car... i loved it....i also like my auto car... im probly just gona buy a 6spd car to add to the collection

If you want consistansy at the track u want a auto, if you want a fun street car manual
