Auto to 6-Speed swap ???
I'm thinkin' about swapping out my auto for a 6-speed. What Parts do I need ? Is the cross member different ? What about the computer ? How long does this swap take? Can I do it in a day w/ air tools & a lift ? I can have the auto out in about an hour.
if you do a search you will find some very detailed posts about this as it is brought up quite often
just a quick rundown, you need the pedals, a bell housing, the tranny, the crossmember, the slave cylinder, and a clutch of course, you don't always get a shifter so you may need that, you'll need to cut a hole in the firewall and in the tunnel for the shifter, the computer tables for the tranny can be rpogrammed out or you can get a computer from a M6 car, whichever works best for you, you'll also have to splice two wires to get the reverse lights to work, there may be more, it's been a couple years since I did it and I'm very tired right now, so I may have left out a thing or two, yes you can do this in a day, but it'll be a long day
