Anyone replaced a pinion seal in thier Moser 12 B?

Has anyone with a Moser 12 bolt replaced thier pinion seal? I'd like to know what to tq the pinion nut down to. I"ve already called moser and asked, and they said to just use a inch lb. tq wrench and back it off to see what it was set at. I don't have a inch lb tq wrench so i was hoping that someone has already did this and knows.

You don't torque the pinion nut like you're thinking. You torque the pinion nut until the bearing preload is correct. Moser gave you correct instructions. Before removing the nut, measure how much torque (in inch-pounds) it takes to spin the pinion, NOT how much it takes to undo the nut. You are essentially measuring how much the bearing is compressed. Then you pull the flange, replace the seal and put it back. Torque the nut down until the torque to spin the pinion is the same as before. You don't want to put too much preload on your pinion bearing.

I would just use a small punch or something and mark where the nut is right now and line it back at the same spot..Goodluck getting that nut off though..Youll prolly need an Impact
