Exclamation The answers we've been looking for (attn: firepheasent, etc)

OK, so for those of you that don't know - I recently installed the McLeod Dual Performance clutch kit (single disc). The clutch was engaging very low, and I called McLeod tech and he said that was fine and normal for stock hydraulics, but if I stepped up to the McLeod adj. master cylinder, I could adjust it. After the 500 mile break-in, I took my car to the track and ran some awful numbers because I couldn't shift at all at the upper RPM range. I had previously had problems shifting at lower RPMs, but I thought that was just a driver mistake, getting used to this new clutch. So I took it home and found that with the rear tires in the air and the clutch disengaged, the tires still spun - the clutch wasn't disengaging! So I tore everything down and found my clutch was pretty burnt up. I installed a SLP pressure plate (the one with the lightening holes in the plate) and an OE disc to see if it was my hydraulics gone bad.

OK, for firepheasent and the rest of you, here's what you want to know: I took it for a spin tonight after work, and it worked AWESOME! I actually felt power that I was missing with my McLeod. I even powershifted 1-2 at about 5.5k RPM with no problem whatsoever. The clutch engaged where the old one used to (about middle or so) - not off the floor like the McLeod.

So what does this mean?? My hydraulics are FINE and the McLeod was a piece. I'm calling McLeod tomorrow to tell them I wasted $400 or so on their product and I want a corrected replacement or my money back.

Oh, and it has nothing to do with the installation, both were done by me and my g/f, using the same tools, torque specs, and lubricant. And part of my job is installing transmissions into vehicles, so its not like I could have messed up the McLeod install.
