Question Anchor Tranny mount

I have had the ES mount on my car for about 6 months and my car is vibrating insanely in every gear around the 2200rpm mark. I bought a 1LE driveshaft and it still feels the same way. I went back to a stock and it felt great, but broke in about 1 month.

Has anyone installed an ANCHOR 2817 mount? What are these made out of?

Other alternative, would shimming the crossmember help with my ES mount?

Thanks to all in advance

what the heck is an Anchor mount? company?

how bout a 1le mount? not as stiff as the ES but better than stock.

and you broke the ls1 driveshaft... geez man...race much?

could something on your flexplate be out of balance? how bout your motor mounts?

i just put in Prothane motor mounts and torque arm mount and noticed NO added vibration.

Thanks for the quick reply...

Actually I broke the tranny mount, both stock and 1LE. The strange thing is that the 1LE mount was much cheaper than the stock mount and didn't look as heavy duty. When my car shifts I could feel the tranny move and the 1-2nd shift something would bang on the floorboard.

Anchor is some off brand company that makes mounts for about 29.99 and they are the same height as stock. (unlike the ES) I've seen a couple of lt1's use them with no complaints, but wondering if anyone with an ls1 has used them.

Motor mounts are a good Idea... I do have 98k miles on the car.

Thanks,

Anchor is a cheap aftermarket replacement brand like Pioneer and Std. Drivetrain. Are you sure you used a real 1LE mount? They look alot thicker than the stock ones and shouldn't be cheaper either.

I'm not positive that it was a 1LE mount. I went to my local chevy dealer and gave him the PN I found from one of the forum entries for the 1le mount. It looked much different then stock. Seemed to have a shape like an "A" and had a hole that you could see through in the center of the rubber. The stock was solid rubber with a very small hole. I tried it for 1 day and pulled it off cause my tranny was all over the place, but no vibration. I think I am going to try shimming down the tranny support brace tomorrow about 1/8" to 1/4" and see if it improves.

The part number for the 1LE mount should show up as discontinued anyway. All GM mounts for LT1 applications should be the 1LE.

Sounds good, I think I'll do the same. The GM stock tranny mount is 75.00 here
