Aluminum driveshaft to long?

I bought a LS1 Aluminum driveshaft yesterday, and it is about 1 inch longer than my factory one. This is on an LT1 car. Also, it did not include the u-joints or the yoke for the tranny, can I re-use my old ones?

With it being an inch longer will it not fit? The guy claimed it came off of a 96 Trans Am, but I don't see how because it is to long. Anybody have any idea?

The actual body of the LS1 driveshaft I have is shorter than the steel stocker. The front yoke was a little longer, making it the same overall length.

Hmmm, it is about 3/4" inch longer center to center. Were the automatic driveshafts longer than the 6-speed's?

You can swap between LT1 and LS1 driveshafts without any issues don't worry.

Hmmm...Maybe this guy ripped me off. He claimed that it came off of a 96 T/A but there is no way that this thing would fit.

Edit: Could this thing maybe have been on an Impala SS?

So now I am stuck with a useless Aluminum Driveshaft, the gains are not worth it to me to have it cut/re-balanced. Although, how much would this run price wise? Anybody know. also, does anybody know what it might even go to? I could always resell it if I knew what it went to.

I think he screwed you if he sold you an LS1 driveshaft out of a 96 TA.

He said that it was an LS1 Aluminum driveshaft but he had bought it from a guy who had put it in his 96 T/A.
