Alright - Tranny Coolers, Shift-kits?

Ok, I'm 18, my car is almost paid off. It's a 1994 Camaro Z28 w/ 135k. The car previously had a 383 or 388 stroker putting out like a 320 RWHP, VERY MILD, stock cam, stock heads. I'm thinking of putting a shift kit in it. With 135k is it dangerous on the tranny? Will the tranny cooler help that? It seems to shift pretty good but you know me.... If it can't leave 200ft tire marks on the 1-2 shift it ain't fun.

Anyways, the car seems to have been ALWAYS taken care of, well maintained. Any tips? Aren't there like 2-3 dif stages of shift kits? What am I lookin at for installation? I was thinking of a like Stage 2 B&M or something.

Thanks.

Mods are in my sig.

Transmission coolers help no matter what. As for helping it last longer because of the shift kit? Not so sure. Trans coolers are for reducing heat, and shift kits don't produce heat really. They up the line pressure so it hits the gear harder. Yes there are different stage shift kits.

How much am I looking at for installation? Theres only two stages? It's a daily driver so I guess I'd go w/ stage 1.

You can install them in your driveway. Shift kit and cooler both.

How hard is it? I do my own oil, change 02 sensors. That's about all I've done... My brother could help me though, he's changed a few cap & rotors and stuff.

I believe they come with instructions on how to put the shift kit in your transmission. It's about as easy as dropping the oil pan from what I have read.

The transmission cooler is just time consuming. Took me a little over 2 hours to get everything hooked up, and tied down. There's a site somewhere on how to install tranny coolers.

tranny cooler install

transgo shift kit install

Hope it helps.
