This thing is undrivable unless rev car and let clutch out fast, sometimes churping tires, this is going to get real old they say 500 mile break in, its been 300 still the same as the day i put it in. After 1st its fine, but reverse omyg i think the tranny is gonna fall out. Resurfaced flywheel at wheel known machine shop all new harware, its not me or the car its the clutch, unless this is normal, next year im getting a street twin mcleod and be done with it.

mine does it too and I also have a stage 3, but I bought the car with the clutch already in and with about 11k on it. It is not all the time, but most of the time and it is getting really old espically when having to start and stop in parking lots and traffic jams. This winter a friend an I are swapping out rearends so we will probably pull the tranny because I also had problems with the clutch last time I was at the track.

I had big issues with the spec2. I changed motor mounts to poly; big improvement. I changed tranny mount to ls1 style; more improvement. I changed torque arm and bushing, and have a little bit of chatter in reverse. In first, it is almost as smooth as my wife's honda civic. I really like the clutch now and would buy another in a heartbeat, but boy I hated that SOB before I made all the other changes.

What transmission do you have, stick or auto?

This only applies to the auto, there is no way a manual tranny LS1 mount will fit my LT1.

I thought the chattering was because it is a high performance clutch and the pads are ceramic coated so when u let off the clutch they vibrate unless u release it fast with some gas, kinda like drag racing. thats how i understood it.

That's interesting. Somebody should have told me I can't do that, before I did it.

Seriously, I have an m6, it used to be an a4, and they are all the same tranny mount as far as I know. I got mine from jason cromer, and it is the ls1 mount.

The LS1 mount I saw at Carquest was much bigger overall and had two studs instead of one. It was much different shape as well. Are you sure what you have An LS1 mount, maybe I was shown the wrong part.

Does your Ls1 mount look just like your LT1 mount?

The ls1 mount is quite similar to the LT1 mount, but there are a few significant differences. One of the main dif's is that there is a limit to how far the mount can flex. I think it is also made of tougher rubber compound and the hole that passes through is smaller on the ls1 mount. I saw a pic of one on here just a few days ago, and by the sound of it, you are being shown the wrong mount.
