Adding brake fluid to a 4L60E?

Hey guys,

My brother has an LS1 Camaro with a 4L60E, and a 2800 stall convertor. The trans doesn't lock into overdrive on the highway, he had the TransGo shift kit installed which was supposed to take care of code 1870 which he was getting and this overdrive problem, but no luck.

So some other guy who supposedly "works on transmissions" told him to try DOT 3 brake fluid in the transmission to stop the slippage. Am I crazy or is this as ridiculous and wrong as it sounds? I know you can use DOT 3 in clutches but never heard anyone using it in autos...

Brake fluid would swell the seals in the transmission a little and may stop the slippage but I certainly wouldn't recommend it.

If the pwm eliminator valve (isolator valve) is installed correctly and the matching feed hole was drilled, then most likely the torque converter clutch is shot.
