Actuator slave install/Clutch Fork!

I have everything hooked up to the car and ready to go. I really want to get this project done today after a years hard work and time.

So the transmission is hooked up to the bellhousing, the driveline is in etc, I made sure the spec stage 4 throwout bearing was up and down in the right position when I installed the tranny.

I am now trying to install the clutch fork into the throwout bearing. The clutch fork sounds like it defiantly snaps into place like it did when I removed the tranny and had to disengage it. This is not a picture of my clutch fork from my car, but it looks almost exactly the same as mine.

I am unable to get the actuator cylinder installed onto the studs that stick out. It is like the actuator cylinder rod is too long and will not allow the actuator to go onto the studs all the way It actually beary fits over the studs. Please help me with this problem, I know it has to be something simple.

Thanks!

Ok here are some pictures I took of how the clutch fork is sitting right now. It is defiantly sturdy and I have to pop it out, however it looks like its sitting in there at an angle?

Thanks again guys! I will post a video after I get this problem fixed and I run her for the first time!

Re: Actuator slave install/Clutch Fork!

There is supposed to be a spacer between the slave cylinder and the bellhousing. I just looked it up in my shop manual I think I heard 1.5" thick. I don't know where you can get one. Possibly gmpartsdirect or jason cromer. If you find out let me know. I need one for my t56 conversion.

Re: Actuator slave install/Clutch Fork!

I dont think thats my problem. I cant even get the actuator to slip over the studs. That rod sticks out way too much and I cant even get it to start to bolt on to the studs. Either something is shimmed incorrectly, or the fork isnt installed on the throwout bearing correctly? I mean from the pictures it looks installed correctly right?!?!?

Please, someone has to have come across this at some point and time.

I doubt it's your slave rod. If the fork is stiking out to far in the opening I would think that would mean it's sitting in front of your throwout bearing instead of on it. Not sure thought just an Idea.

Re: Actuator slave install/Clutch Fork!

I am pretty sure everyones clutch fork sits out a little from the housing... I remember it did when I took my clutch/tranny out of my car. I will try and press in on the actuator portion thats hydraulic driven with the master cylinder cap off and see if it will press into the housing so I can get it on enough to bolt the actuator to the studs.
