Wifes car 97 2.4 sounds a little loud "squealling"....Put ac on it stops... Think its the clutch? Is it ok to drive for a week or 2 before repairs. I just hate that the engine on this car is side ways, there is not much room to play with the clutch. Water pump that i did on this car about a month ago was a total nightmare!

 

does it sound real tinny like 2 pieces of metal clanging together lightly if it does and it goes away with a/c/ on its the clutch you can have them shimmed out ya could say but ya need a cluth puller for a/c/clutches and pull it out ever so slightly and it will stop it from rubbin.

 

Yep thats what is sounds like.. ac on and it stops... Is it drivable for a couple of weeks or will this make more damage...

 

the sound will get worse if it just started doin it ya got time on it but watch it.it will start eating the front cover and cause the clutch to start comin apart and tear the comp apartso get it fixed relativley soon butt its not a life or death situation
