Abs Inop

I swapped my rear axle today because my posi unit was wearing out in mine. My old axle had a sensor on the top of it I am guessing for the ABS. The car does not have traction control btw. The axle I put in the car has the sensors on the axle, I am guessing it was from a traction control car. Is it possible to hook those up to my car and turn the ABS INOP light off? BTW, my abs is still working just fine.

Re: Abs Inop

The tooth count on the reluctor wheels for the diff carrier and the axles is a lot different. I would think the EBCM would have a problem rationalizing the huge difference in pulses. Also hard to understand how the ABS can still be working if the "ABS INOP" light is on.

Might want to try a "search".... this issue come up when people ask "will a 98+ rear axle work in an LT1 car?" and the differences between 4-channel and 3-channel systems is discussed.
