abs delete

Figured I would ask this question here since the main reason someone would delete their abs is for a 12 bolt swap. What all is involved and what problems does it cause? Can you keep the front abs if you swap in a nonabs rear?

as far as completely removing it,havent done that yet,and mines been dead for 2 years.

you cant keep front abs without the rear,it's a 3 or 4 channel system, and as soon as 1 channel is removed/in trouble the whole unit is dead.

So, does it cause any problems? Other than being able to lock up your brakes.(if you call that a problem) Do you just disconnect it from the rear?

why not just build your own abs set up so you can keep it with a diff rear end?

It's easy to remove. Basically, you disconnect the lines running to the ABS module, then tee the front 2 lines together, and run them to the master cylinder. Then, run the rear one to a proportioning valve and connect that to the master cylinder..

Pressto, no more ABS.. Now is the perfect time to put a line lock in though.. Check out this site, they have some line lock install kits that can help, it's a bitch to bend all the lines and make the flares right..
