? about throw out bearing/ retainer ring

a couple of weeks ago I broke the throw out bearing and retaining ring during a 5k launch at the track. Well, I bought a new bearing through Advance Auto, but it did not come with the retaining ring.

Does anyone know where the ring can be purchased seperately? Or does anyone know if the GM throw out bearing comes with the ring? If the GM one comes with the ring, then I will get that and return the other.

thanks

not sure if i have your answer, but on most newer vehicles, the throwout bearing is mounted inside the pressure plate with the fingers cirlcing it and holding it in. the lt1 is that way. sorry if i missed what car you have. in that case, you would have broken the fingers to get the throwout bearing off. ?

Re: ? about throw out bearing/ retainer ring

it is a 95 LT1, anyway, the 3 little hooks on the bearing broke along with the ring that goes hooks to them on the outside of the pressure plate. My problem is that I need the ring, but it did not come with the new bearing. I need to know where I can get just the ring or if the throw out bearing from GM comes with it.

This is on a Street Twin clutch, and Gene at McLeod told me they use a stock pressure plate and throw out bearing.
