The Th350 will have to be disassembled to install a new output shaft that will accept your electronic speddo. You'll need a $300 A4-Th350 changeover kit that will include the new shaft, extension housing spacer, and universal dipsick and tube. The spacer is needed, because the mount is further back on an A4, and you'll need to reuse your A4 extension housing, because you'll need some place to bolt your torque arm.
All in all, the price ends up being a wash and with the TH350, you lose your O/D, so fuel economy will eat up any difference in cost. The A4 is also a superior transmission for drag racing, because it has a much more superior 3.08 first gear ratio.

BTW, a Th350 isn't any stronger than a properly built A4.

I would have to agree with CPT frank on all points above the losses doing this swap are far greater than and cost savings in the right now.

I've never seen an A4 in a 1200hp application last or an A4 be quicker than a well built turbo 350.

Show me

LOL...Tom, who are you trying to kid here? We've been proving A4's are quicker than TH350's for years! We've also been proving they out 60 ft. a TH350.

Now, Tom, let's address your other blatantly false claim. Show me ANY TH350 behind a 1200 HP motor...that's actually drag raced.

Easy, Mike Transmission's Ultimate turbo 350, I ran one in the late 90's then in 2001 I switched to an API built unit behind a 555" big chief with 2 stages, only broke 1. They both still sell them and stock them. Fact Frank, Fact thats 2 builders. Whats false about that??????????????

Whats the best 60' out of your A4? I can get you a whole stack of timeslips in the low 1.20's with a Coan built 350 and that was with the old version. naturally aspirated too.

LOL...You're kidding, right? Care to throw up some prices for those TH350's? They're basically a 350 case with all billet internals.

Um...In the same car with the same motor an A4 will always out 60 Ft. a TH350...UNLESS the TH350 has had the gear set changed to equal the 3:08 of the 4L60E.

This thread got started because someone was trying to save money by installing a TH350. How does your posts relate to anyone saving money? Do you really believe this member wants to spend $5000 on a TH350 when he can't generate the $800 to have his A4 built?

$1895.00 for a Mikes ultimate 350 thats hardly $5k My API was $3k once again hardly $5k

You were the one bragging how superior an A4 is to the turbo 350, I proved you wrong then you throw up disclaimers. Even your 3.08 comment doesn't always hold true, you can have too much gear multiplication when the horsepower is up, especially on a small tire.

If he can land a smokin deal on the turbo 350 then buys the $300 conversion kit he is still money ahead. Either trans you buy a new convertor so where was he wrong in thinking it might save him money??.

How about listing them 60' times for me now?
