A4 shifting way too early

I have a 95 Z28 with 113K miles. The transmission was rebuily by Circle D back few years ago and has been shifting fine. I sent in the computer for a mail order tune 2 weeks ago. After reinstalling the computer I took the car for a drive. Everything felt good, shift firmness, electric fan operation, speedometer calibration for the 3.73s... except for one thing... at WOT the car is shifting at 3500rpm! 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd... I can however rev the car in Park higher than 3500.

Now my question is, besides the computer tuning is there anything mechanical that would cause this. I emailed the tuner who is very reputable and they claim that the tune was triple checked before it was sent back to me. I don't doubt this but the tuning was the only change I made to the car during this time so it seems suspect.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

I would guess not being a tuner they set the gears but did not ajust the rpm/mph tables to match but it does sound like and issue with tuning
