Re: A4 shift issue

its not your mount. i drove my car with a trani mount that was literally torn in half for a few weeks and never had that problem once.

Re: A4 shift issue

Just curious, what are symptoms of a bad mount?

The symptoms of a bad mount are usually most obvious whhen you get on the gas and you hear something slam or knocking hard on your floor, mine even did it while shift gears too.

My car does the jerking thing too, in Drive and Reverse. I changed my tranny mount (which was torn in half) and it didn't help, I need advice too

Re: A4 shift issue

Are you sure its just not fuel enrichment for cold startup?
The revs will be up at cold startup and engaging the transmission will cause this jerk.
Does it do the same thing once the car is warm?

Re: A4 shift issue

my car does it cold or warm but only when shifting into drive. Rpms are set to 800 via Hypertech programmer is this too high? Could it be a motor mount or the torque arm mount?

Re: A4 shift issue

Could be tranny mount, I would check to make sure all yours mounts are in good shape.
I have a built 4L60E with a poly tranny mount and a BMR adjustable TA that has a poly mount. My car when started cold will jerk and it still does it warm but not as hard.
Check your mounts to be sure, high idle will contribute to this but I don,t think 800 is too bad.
