I know this has been asked millions of times. But iam having trouble finding this one site, cant remember the name, but they sold the complete kit with a rebuilt t56/new clutch/ etc for like $2400 but also sold a 'used' kit for $1500. Anybody know which company iam talking about???

I would just put a wanted ad up or something and buy from a private person but since iam going thru my parents as far as paying someone goes (giving them my $ but using there paypal) I have to buy from a website or a company because they wont risk buying from a private seller. Before you ask, yes iam underage and live with my parents.


Also if anyone knows anywere else (OTHER websites) to get a t56 conversion and could tell me, that would be helpfull as well

Just keep looking in the classifieds. Thats usually where everyone get ths theres from.

I am getting ready to buy a buddies car that popped a motor and was gonna part it out. I'd let the T56 swap go for $1500, add another $200 for a Spec III clutch with less than 2k miles on it.

LT1 or LS1?

It seems there are far more LT1 T56 conversions happening than LS1 conversions, or is that just me?? I've been reading around about this the last couple days now, and there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of info on the LS1 swap? (although it sounds like it's mostly the same, except minor wiring differences from the LT1?)

 

It's an LT1 T56. The differences between the two are a difference bellhousing mating and the full hydraulic setup. They are not interchangeable.

 

I know, and that sucks, 'cause there are basically NO complete conversion packages out there that I can find right now. Everything seems to be for an LT1.

 

Go search on LS1tech in the Drivetrain forum. You should be able to find something.

 

So does anyone have any more info on companies selling the conversion kit for LT1 setups? I know a saw some company advertising it on here for like $2000 and can't remember the name.....was a banner or something.
