A4 Line Pressure Question

What are some ways to check my line pressure? I looked up some tools but they were expensive. Anything cheap out there to use to get the pressure?

Re: A4 Line Pressure Question

Simple fix here...go to northern tools....purchase a 2 and a half inch, 0-400 psi, hydralic pressure gage..$9.95...(note.. I get the souped up ones that are nitro filled they cost $14.95)..a 48" steel braded hose...$4.90...a 1/4 to 1/4 npt coupler..$1.97 to couple the hose to the gage...get a 1/4 to 1/8 npt reducer..$.97 for the other end of the hose and you are in business...screw this into your pressure tap in the side of the transmission and you'll be like the tranny guys...It'll cost ya less than twenty bucks....Another good source for these gages is Tractor Supply house, they can help too....I hope this helps ..Dave

Re: A4 Line Pressure Question

After some googling I was able to find the following except a 0-400 hydraulic pressure gauge(does it have to be hydraulic? Found severel others but say they are for messuring oil, gas, and water)

Here's what I found. Could you tell me what can and cannot be used and if I could get these from supplier?

Black enameled aluminum pointer, white aluminum dial and temperature compensating polycarbonate window. Glycerin filled to dampen pulse and vibration. Accuracy: ASME/ANSI B40.1 Grade A (2-1-2%).

Re: A4 Line Pressure Question

That gage will work, and any hose that will hold 400 psi will work. I got my hose steel braided simply because it was on the shelf when I got the gage. Just get the gage and a hose and plug then together...then go test your unit....hope this helps Dave
