95 Z28, automatic shifter problem

Hi guys, I came for some advice.

My sister just picked up the '95 Z28 from the bodyshop and she says that the shifter will not go into park.

Background: In 2003, the transmission was rebuilt and the guy did a flawless job. Last year, the shifter had difficulty being shifted OUT of park. Even after taking it apart and greasing it last year, it never really improved the situation.

Today: She picked the car up, and she says it isn't possible to shift the car INTO park.

Could something be broken? And if so, what? I really have no idea.

And as a side question... would it be ok to put the car in neutral, and use the handbrake when parking? Will the key come out while in neutral?
