95 Formula T56 issues

I just got the car about a month ago, 95 green Formula M6, only major issue is that reverse is skitzo and I have to hold the stick over in position untill engages, and engages with a bump. Also if I'm backing up and push the clutch back down, it pops out of gear and makes a horrible grinding sound untill I disengage the clutch again. Anyone know anything about this? Please let me know if you do, thanks.

Do you have to push the stick real hard to the right to get it into the reverse gate?

no, not really, just have to keep pressure on it untill clutch starts to engage. It's not hard at all to get it into the gate, just a pain to keep it in gear, especially when there's any kind of resistance, such as tall thick grass, or up a semi steep bump, no problem going up a driveway, it's just really weird, pissy, and aggravating as hell, not to mention makes my car sound like crap and like I can't drive it.

Sounds like a clutch issue to me but more than likely the transmission could use a rebuild as well .
