93 Z28 trans prob

Hi,
I have a problem with the trans in my 93 Auto. I was driving and I stepped on it only lightly and I heard a Big bang and it stopped. I did it again, it did the same thing, then just went into like natural. I took it out of the Over drive spot on the shifter and it goes fine. It does slip at all even under heavy throttle. But now I have absolutely nothing when I **** it the over drive spot, the one with the circle around the D, its like its in neutral. Any ideas what just happened?

Thanks For any and all help.

Most likley you have broken your input sprag it does the holding in forward in the OD position But the overun clutches do it in the D position. You are gonna need a trans or a rebuild.

Yes, this sounds like the input sprag has went. Very common problem with the (weak) SKF input sprags GM used in the late 700's (4L60) and the 4L60E's. We never reuse this type because of this. We always update EVERYTHING to the stronger 29 Element Borg Warner input sprags.
