93 Tranny gearing

I was looking at the gear ratios for the 93 T-56 with the 2.73 and liked the way it was set up. If i the did that tranny which the first gear is a 3.36:1 with my stock 3.43 final drive would I fry my rear end if I launched it?

Re: 93 Tranny gearing

It should work fine with the 3.42's, I had a 93 Z with that trans and once you start upping the power, it's a pain to get the gear ratios right. I found 3rd/4th likes 3.73 but prefers 4.10's, and when running 4.10's 1st gear was 30% deeper than on the more common close ratio trans. So you had no traction. but with 3.23's to 3.42's and a mild motor it will work well.
