Are 4.10's too much for my setup?

I was told that 4.10's would cause a lot of stuff to break if I put them in my setup. I'm getting a 355 put in, but everything else on my car stock. I'm going with a Spec Stage III clutch. Why would 4.10's be any worse than 3.73's or 3.42's? I'm pretty set on 3.73's pending a reply from on of you guys.

What will 4.10's "tear up" ?

anything can break our glass rear ends...

i snapped my axle first time i launched it with specIII clutch/flywheel, nittos were at 17psi, higher the gear, more strain on rear end... id save for 12 bolt/9"

What all do i need to replace? Do I just need to get a 9" housing? Do I need to get the axles? Do I need the whole trailing assembly?

You might want to do a search. Its way to much to simply explain in one post. If you want gears and want them to last you will need a new rear end. All cost big bucks 1500-2000.

What's the biggest gear I can use safely with my 355 in my stock 10 bolt?

Also... How much should I worry about breaking my tranny to pieces? I was thinking about getting an auto, but thats no fun.

The 4.10's break becuase there is 20% more torque than with 3.42's, and about the same number of teeth. 41/10 with the 4.10's and I think 41/12 with the 3.42's (I may be wrong on the 3.42's)
