My transmission shifter is stuck.....

redoing the whole engine and drivetrain, and something is stuck, it did this w/o the tranny in the car, so its something to do with the shifter itself.

I did mash the brakes all the way down, and shoved the button down with both hands, and something is still stopping it from leaving park.

Any idea's?

 

You have the key on, right? It won't shift out of park without the key being turned forward at least to the first click.

With mine it was the clip that holds the shift **** on had popped out and the shift **** had slid up like you were trying to take it off. Try taking your palm and pounding the shifter **** down on the shaft then see if it'll work.
