9" am i screwed??

I found out i have a 3 sensor ABS system on my 97, so now i need a custom 3rd. member that needs drilled for this sensor, can i get this down to a standard 9" 3rd. member? Moser wants 1588.00 for a complete 3rd. member , screw that, i was hopeing to be out around 600.00 or so, this bites, what are my options?

If there was a way to beef up this 10 bolt, i would just consider that, it would be a hell of alot cheaper.

Have you looked into the possbility of mounting a reluctor wheel externally on the pnion shaft, with a bracket for the sensor? Not sure if you can get a reluctor in this small a diameter, with the large # of teeth the stock reluctor wheel has, but it might be possible.

I would like to figure out something because this bites, if i had the 4 sensor setup, no biggie, there on the axles, but not my luck, now according to Moser, i either need to get there 3rd. member (totally out of the Q) or have someone build a boss & drill & tap the hole, but it needs to be right or it won't work, because it reads off the ring gear, now if i can do what your showing there, that would work great if it'll work. Is that a 9"

That's a Moser 9-inch. That particular sensor is for driveshaft RPM, not for ABS - the ECU logs driveshaft RPM to calculate torque converter slip. But it would work for ABS if the tooth count was high enough.

The sensor in the rear housing needs to read off a reluctor gear with the correct # of teeth, not off the ring gear. The reluctor is usually on the carrier.
