700rf transmission HELP

I'm using a 700r4 transmission on a 94z28 engine. In an 88 chevy 4x4. I'm gettting a new throttle body so I can hook up the tv cable correctly.

Has anyone gone through all this. What should I do to get the most out of this transmission. Shift kit?? How do I make sure it's stout with no slipping and such. Getting the torque convertor to lock up and unlock properly.

any input would be greatly appreciated!

shift kit, trans cooler, and 2nd 3rd apply servo (corvett servo) .... if you are not going to rebuild the whole thing then thats what I would do...

it will keep it cool and give it nice firm shifts..

thats what I am running in my 90 K5 blazer, a 94 LT1 with a 93 T/B, and a 700R4 woth a NP241 Tcase(your 88 should have a NP208, right?, if so, keep an eye out for a 89(NOT a 90) NP241, stronger and a direct bolt in(if the 241 shifter is used) for you)

trans has heavy duty clutches, a shift kit, aux trans cooler, and a corvette servo

shifts nice and firm/quick

well, if you ever have trouble, look for a 89 NP241(89 was the only year with a mechanical speedo, 90+ had a VSS, and the new body style trucks had a drivers side drop for the front D/S)
