700R4 TCC Hookup

I am hooking up a race prepped 700R and need to hook up a manual switch to control lockup when on the street. Does anyone have a schematic on how to wire this up? This is a race only setup so I am not concerned about automatic TCC activation. I just want a switch on the stick so I can control it at will.

Thanks in advance!

If it's a "race only car", why didn't you do a non lock-up conversion? you'll never need lock-up in a drag car. We NEVER advise manual lock-up switches, because most people forget to lock them, and a 700 needs lock-up in 4th gear to keep the 3-4 clutches alive. Whoever built your transmission should have wired it, internally, to control the lock-up apply. We usually wire them through a 4th gear switch, and a 4-3 pulse switch, on the valve body. We also suggest the customer wire it through a brake light switch, and a low vacuum switch. The LV switch is needed because YOU NEVER WANT LOCK-UP AT WOT!

If your car was originally a 4L60E car the wiring would be simple...providing the transmission is wired right internally, using the "A" and "D" terminals at the case connector. Did you specify it was a swap transmission when you had it built?

Honestly Frank, the transmission was already built when I bought it. It came out of an 89 IROC and was built with a reverse pattern manual valve body. I got it for $800 from a guy up in MD that fbody central used to use. It came out of his personal car. My car was originally an M6. It is going to be 90% strip and about 10% street. Its the 10% street that I want the lockup for. I know I run the risk of burning it up if it does not lock up in 4th. I don't have the highest confidence in the trans so if I blow it up, I'll be knocking on your door. In the mean time, I can handle manually locking it up. Where do I get the connector for the trans and how do I wire it up? I am open to all suggestions. I am on a severly tight budget.

Thanks,
Chris
