700R4 in a 95 Trans Am? need help.
Hey everyone, i was wondering since my 4l60e in my Trans Am is slipping real bad and the tranny shop is wanting to charge 2000 to fix it, if it would be better to put my buddies 700R4 tranny with OD in my car? AAMCO guy said it would be a horrible move and that i should take the tranny to them and let them drain my account. What are yall's thoughts on this? oh and im buying the 700r4 for 300 bucks and is in supposedly excellent condition. thanks guys.

You will need to work out several things
PROVISION FOR SPEEDO
REFLASH PCM FOR MANUAL
PROVISION FOR TV CABLE
PROVISIONS FOR LOCKUP
It would indeed be best to go back with the 60e instead IMO but I would consider gettinga "built unit" from somehwere as it would actually be cheaper than 2000 dollars and have a longer warranty I am sure.
