700r and 4l60e the same??

700r and 4l60e the same??

I know the 700 and the 4l60e are the same tranny just that one is electrically controlled the other is not....my question is if i have a torconverter for a 700r4 will it fit on my 4l60e?? I have a 96 forula with an lt1 350....so has anyone tried this or no??

The 700-R4 and the 4L60 are almost identical, the 4L60 has 5 pin case connectors and an extra check ball in the valve body. Other than that, they are identical. The 4L60e is just an electronically controlled 4L60...

To answer your question, yes, a 700-R4 torque converter is the same thing as a 4L60/4L60e torque converter. I would know, I just put a T/C built for a 700-R4 application on my 94 Z28 this past weekend...

...As long as it's not from an early 700. Early 700's had 27 spline input shafts...Late units have 30 spline, which is the same as a 4L60E.
